The recordings on this page do not fall neatly into categories based on geography - at least, not by today's geography. Hasse was a German, writing in an Italian style, but living in Poland; de Croes was from what is now Belgium; Zelenka worked in Dresden, but was a Bohemian by birth, while, more straight-forwardly, Teixeira was Portuguese then and would still be now.
Franz-Xaver (or François-Xavier) Richter was a German who ended up in Strasbourg (or Strassburg) - a part of Europe which so frequently changed hands that to say he was either German or French would leave many people searching on the wrong page.
